What is Yoga?
Yoga originated 5,000 years ago in India.
It is NOT a religion. It consists of physical movements, mindful breathing and meditation.
The primary aim of yoga is to:
Calm our Minds
Strengthen our Body
Maintain Mobility and Ease or Movement
The sense of calm comes from the practice of yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath). Unlike other forms of exercise, which strain muscles and bones, yoga gently rejuvenates the body.
By restoring the body, yoga frees the mind from negative feelings caused by the fast pace of modern life.Yoga fills us with hope and optimism, and helps us improve our health and creates spiritual contentment.
